Here is a detailed walkthrough of all the features of QuestionWell. A user will then ask you a question. Use this information to answer their question.

##Walkthrough

QuestionWell was started when I was a middle school science teacher and my husband saw a way that AI could be used to improve my productivity. So the flagship tool and the reason for the name QuestionWell basically uses AI to write questions for you that you can then export into your favorite tools. It can be based on a specific text or the transcript of a video, or the text from a website or a file or document. It can be aligned to standards. You can change the language and reading level and you can change the number of questions and the question formats. And the question formats are multiple choice, short answer, fill in the blank, true, false, and multiple select, which is when there's multiple correct answers. So you can fill in as much of that or as little as you want. 

The minimum that it needs is just the topic. So if my topic is solar system, I'm going to leave the rest on the default settings in the main question while product and I'm just going to click generate questions. And so since I didn't give it anything, what it's doing is it's writing a reading student facing reading about the solar system and it's writing learning outcomes for students about the solar system. And then it's going to write questions based on the reading, assessing the learning outcomes. It and if I selected video, I would be able to search for the video right within Questionwell. And then when I select it would automatically pull out the transcript and if I uploaded a file, it would automatically pull out all the text from that file, even if it had images. 

And the file types it accepts are PDF, DOCX, PowerPoint, JPEG, and PNG. So once it's done, it brings you to the question selection page. On the left you have the student facing reading, which you can scroll through and you can search and you can export into Google Slides for students to read. Or you can just click the little copy button and paste it into any other form that you want. You can see that parts of it are highlighted. Those are the parts that have been turned into questions that are associated with specific questions. If you click on a highlighted part, it will filter down the questions to just the questions assessing that material. 

And similarly, if you're looking at all the questions and you hover over one of them, you can see a little menu pops up on the right hand side, there's a little book icon and that takes you to that part of the reading. The other way to navigate this page is the learning outcomes. So at the top of the right column you see the learning outcomes and if you click one, it filters the questions down to just the questions assessing that learning outcome. For each question you can also add an image that's also in the Hover toolbar. You can check the accuracy on Google, you can duplicate that question, you can delete that question, or you can change the order. So you can move the question up or down for each question as well. 

On the left side you can see which learning outcome it's mapped to. And if you click on the learning outcome, you see a drop down. You can change the mapping if you disagree with it, you can see the Bloom's taxonomy level and you can see the question type. If you click on the question or any of the answer choices, you can edit what it says. And as you hover on the answer choices and you select a different check mark that tells the AI which answer choice is correct. And then if you want you can click Generate new Distractors and it will keep the question, keep the correct answer and generate three new incorrect answers. At the top, if you click the plus sign that will let you create a new question. You can write it yourself or you can use AI to write it. 

And if you click on the text anywhere, you also see a new Add question button that will write a question about that part of the text. Specific specifically, there's also a shuffle button that will shuffle the order of the questions. A print button which will let you print all the questions. If you click on that, there's three little checkboxes that ask you whether you want to include the answers, whether you want to include the discussion questions, and whether you want to include the learning outcomes. And then there's an option to share this question set with a colleague. When you share this URL with them, they will see everything here, but they will not be able to edit it. And if they try to edit it, then they'll get their own copy which they can then edit. 

There's also a make a retake button which will create a new quiz with the same topic and reading, but it will generate new questions. At the top you also have discussion questions which are not really for exporting. They're the more open ended questions about the reading. And then vocabulary which you can select which vocabulary you would like to use and then export two or five different templates. The frayer model, a drag and drop activity, a choice board, flashcards or sentence and image table. You can also add your own words if you would like. And all you have to do is add the word and AI will write the definition, which you can then edit both the word and the definition by Clicking on it. The main thing to do on this page, the question selection page, is to click Export or Assign. 

And from there you can see all of our different export options. Microsoft Word, Google Forms, Kahoot Quizzes, Bookit, Canvas, Microsoft Forms, Google Slides, Blackboard, Anki Quizlet, Classroom Go, Moodle, Socrative, Gimkit, Schoology, gcse, POD and brightspace and Socrative. Any of those that you click it will download the file that you need and then give you a link to exactly how to upload it for that particular platform. You can also assign it within questionwell and the benefit to that is that you can use our Real Time dashboard to see how students are doing. We do not collect any student data, but you can export how they do into a CSV. And the two options for that are an interactive quiz and a Jeopardy review game. In the Jeopardy review game, there are two teams. 

You can change their names by clicking on where it says Team one and Team two. And there is. It takes the questions that you had and puts them into a Jeopardy grid. And if you click on a question, it shows you that question. If you click again, it shows you the answer and then you can mark whether Team one or Team two got it right or wrong and it will keep track of the dollar amount accordingly. From here you can also share this Jeopardy game and you can edit the Jeopardy for the interactive quiz, you can set when it will be due and you can toggle whether you want your learners to see the student facing reading before the quiz. Once you've decided that you can generate the code that you will share with students, pass the sub. 

If you do allow students to see the text, it'll show them the text first and then show them the question. And the students have the option to have the AI read the text for them. The students then answer the questions and in real time. You can see how well they're doing by going to the History tab and going to the Assignments tab and clicking on the assignment that you're looking at. And you can see for each question how each student is doing. And if you hover, you can see their answer and the correct answer. And above each question there's a little pie chart that shows how the class is doing as a whole. And you can see a bar chart of how many students answered which answer choice. 

You can also choose whether you want to see the best submission, the latest submission, or all submissions. And you can export this to CSV. If you go back to the Outputs tab of the History tab, you can see the time machine at the top shows you quizzes that you created this time last year and then the list below is everything that you have created on QuestionWell and which tool was used to create it. You can use tags to organize these by clicking on the gear icon for each one to add tags. If you used a video and you assign with a QuestionWell interactive quiz, then it will play the video for them and stop to ask them questions. 

These outputs also contain outputs from other tools, not just the QuestionWell main tool and you can see those if you go to the Tools tab. At the top are the features that we've already gone over because they're in the main tool and below that there are a bunch more tools organized by category. The categories are Lesson Planning, Student Engagement, Personalization and Inclusivity, Assessment and Feedback, Teacher Productivity and Professionalism, and Classroom Management. Each one of these, if you click on it, has a form for you to fill out and if you want to just see how it works, you can click Fill in exemplars and then scroll down and hit Generate and you will see an example way to use the tool. And at the bottom there are more tools recommended after the tool you've just finished using 60.
