Extract from this paper: 

1) HOW: What kind of study is this? Randomized control? Quasi-Experimental? Qualitative? Meta-Analysis? etc. Explain the strengths and weaknesses of this design. If the study is not experimental or quasi-experimental, briefly summarize the study but be really clear that this is NOT an experimental study.

2) WHO: Who were the participants, EXACTLY? How were they selected? 

3) WHAT: Procedure. If this is relevant to the design, explain what the participants did, EXACTLY? Include examples of stimuli when possible. What did the treatment group do? What did the control group do? What were the stages or phases? Who was compared to whom? What were they compared on exactly?

3) SO WHAT: What were the findings? If there were quantitative findings, explain them and their significance in laymans terms. How internally and externally valid and reliable are the findings? 

4) BUT: Limitations. Finally, explain the limitations to consider when deciding whether to apply these findings in the classroom. What are the limits to applicability?
